What is “Murph” and why do you do it?

Lt. Michael P. Murphy was a United States Navy SEAL who gave his life in service to his country during Operation Red Wings in Afghanistan in 2005. Known for his courage, leadership, and selflessness, Lt. Murphy exposed himself to enemy fire in order to call for help for his team — a decision that ultimately cost him his life but saved others. For his heroic actions, he was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor, the nation’s highest military decoration.

The “Murph” workout was one of his favorites and has become a way for communities around the world to honor his sacrifice and the sacrifices of all fallen service members.
