Q&A with Kristin


What brought you to 23:20, and what keeps you coming back?

My friend Carrie told me we were going on a walk. I keep coming back because of the challenge and the people at the gym. I found a home there and I am so thankful.

Where are you from? If not here, when did you move here?

Albia! But My husband and I moved around for about 10 years before we came back to this area.

What do you do outside of the gym? Both for work and play?

I am the head athletic trainer at IHCC. I follow my kids and husband around at their many sporting events and practices.

If you could do another job for just one day, what would it be?

An orthopedic surgeon.

If you had to do 100 reps of one movement (not running), what would it be?

🤢 …box jumps.

One year from now, what do you hope to have mastered? What skill or lift do you hope to add to your wheelhouse?

Hand stand push ups.

What would you say to a person who is apprehensive to join a CrossFit gym?

Try it! They will meet you where you are! You gain so much more than strength and fitness here.

What is one thing that CrossFit has changed about your life that you didn't expect it to?

My mental health.

What’s your party trick?

I can put dislocated body parts back into place. 🤣🤣 there is a story.

What is one thing about you people would be surprised to know?

I have 6 siblings: 3 brothers and 3 sisters.

What is the best piece of advice you've ever been given?

To try to leave wherever you are a little better than it was when you came.
